We are here to assist all postgraduate students enrolled at all campuses; internal and external, coursework and research, and while we may never get to meet all of you, we hope you feel you are represented on issues that may arise over the course of your study.
A very exciting change this year has been the opportunity to be relocated to Goodman Plaza where we have a shop front office. This will raise awareness of the Association and also offer a point of connection for students. Please drop in and have a coffee and a chat. Get-togethers are held throughout the year as a way to meet and network with other postgrads, and a highlight is an annual conference where all postgrad students are invited to present. It is a great vehicle for gaining experience in a supported, collegial environment. Please check out the link to the conferences to get a feel for what has been happening and to think about this year's event. There is the Magazine, Cruxis, which is also an annual contribution to our community. Our aim is to publish in semester one each year and welcome items on any topic, research or otherwise. Please take a look at the 2007 edition to get an idea. Committee positions are always hard to fill, and it really is a few people doing a big job - so if you think you would like to be a part of the Association in a leadership role, please contact us to see which positions may be available. Our AGM is usually held mid-year where all positions become vacant for elections, although positions can be filled anytime. There are many opportunities on campus for postgraduate students to be involved. Crux Postgraduate Association represents postgraduate students on University Boards and Committees although you do not need to be on the Crux Committee to represent on these. Interested? Come and talk to us. We look forward to meeting you in person or email, and appreciate any feedback or suggestions. Updated: 26 June 2008 |
